- Chief Executive Officer
Gurpaul Singh has a unique combination of technology, business and management expertise. Gurpaul graduated from medical school in 1995 and received the class prize in Family Practice. After practicing as a physician for several years, he realized his passion for technology. He made the transition to management when he joined Karta Technologies in 1999 focusing on on-line healthcare training. As a member of the senior leadership team, he became a seasoned executive in the technology-based training industry, managing a team of 100 software and learning professionals with a diverse client base of government, defense and Fortune 500 companies. Gurpaul and his family exited Karta upon acquisition by NCI Technologies (NCIT).
As CEO of Asset Essentials, Gurpaul has successfully developed a culture that encourages teamwork while maintaining accountability. This family dynamic not only attracts the best talent in the industry, it retains it.
Gurpaul is active in the local community and served on the Mayor’s Leadership and Steering Committee for SA2020, tasked with creating a roadmap for San Antonio's growth and aspirations as a community over the next 10 years.
Fun Fact: In his spare time he enjoys traveling, classical Indian music, basketball (really just the Spurs!) and motorsports.
- Chief Operations Officer
Over the past 9 years, Chad has been deeply involved in multifamily telecommunications as both an owner and consultant. As a Cum Laude graduate with a B.B.A. in Finance and a M.B.A. in General Business from Texas Tech University, he has focused on finding innovative ways to create additional income for multifamily owners and managers.
He began his career with the Lynd Company as a special projects manager and subsequently left to form Asset Essentials, concentrating on the negotiation and management of service provider agreements for multifamily properties.
Since 2011, Chad has been responsible for business development and client/provider relations. During this span, Asset Essentials has grown to represent over 45 companies comprising over 1.1 million units.
Fun Fact: Chad has never tried any vegetable besides spinach and green beans.
- Operations Support Manager
After receiving her B.A in Fashion Management from the University of the Incarnate Word, Amanda gained experience in leadership, sales and customer relations as the Service Experience Lead at Nordstrom. She is also an experienced graphic designer, having worked freelance as well as for a San Antonio based design company previously. She joined Asset Essentials in 2015 as Office Manager and received a promotion to Operations Support Manager the following year.
As Operations Support Manager, Amanda responsibilities range from project management, process improvement and training to CRM administration. She is also responsible for account management and managing all marketing initiatives for Asset Essentials. Her background allows her to utilize her skills in corporate branding, marketing and graphic design to create new media outlets that further expand the Asset Essentials brand.
Fun Fact: Amanda loves to travel to hiking destinations and document her adventures through photography.
Mpoki, a Certified Public Accountant license holder, graduated with a B.B.A in Finance from University of Kentucky, and a Masters of Accountancy from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Mpoki has worked in Corporate Accounting for over 10 years. At Asset Essentials, Mpoki is responsible for all of the Accounting as well as for facilitating and directing multiple financial initiatives.
Fun Fact: Mpoki played 1st Division Basketball in his native Tanzania.
- Account Manager
Matt has spent the last 6 years deeply involved in the multifamily industry as both an owner representative and a vendor. After graduating from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi with a B.B.A. in Marketing, Matt joined the Lynd Company where he held various positions ranging from Leasing Agent to Community Director. In 2012, Matt joined Asset Essentials where he currently serves as an Account Manager overseeing multiple properties across the country. His role focuses on client support, revenue share auditing, contract analysis and in his free time, a little business development. Matt's dedication to excellence and focus to detail have allowed him to build trusting relationships with both his clients and the providers.
Fun Fact: Matt loves spending time outdoors. He enjoys hunting, fishing and playing sports.
- Office Manager
Kristen joined Asset Essentials in 2018 and brought with her over 10 years of experience in customer service, sales and executive support. As office manager, her responsibilities range from event and travel coordination to providing support to the executive and account management teams. In addition to maintaining office efficiency, Kristen also plays a key role in our revenue share auditing process that is pivotal to our clients.
Kristen is originally from Austin and moved to San Antonio to be a part of the Asset Essentials team. She is currently pursuing a degree in Construction Business Management.
Fun Fact: Kristen is avid player of Dungeons & Dragons. She may really be an elf.
- Vice President
Tanya entered the telecommunications' industry after graduating with a Bachelor's of Science from St. Mary's University in 2002. While working full time at Time Warner Cable, she earned an M.B.A., graduating Cum Laude from Webster University. At TWC she worked as a Senior Account Manager focused on negotiating contract terms and access rights for Multifamily Owners. As one of the first employees at Asset Essentials, Tanya's background and knowledge of the telecom space proved pivotal to the growth and the development of the company. Tanya now holds the title of Vice President and is in charge of all day to day operations of the company including billing, auditing, account management and contract analysis.
Fun Fact: In her spare time Tanya loves to travel. She was born in Canberra, Australia and speaks Spanish, Italian, German, English and conversational Portuguese.
- Vice President of Business Development
Tricia recently became the newest member of the Asset Essentials team in 2019. With over 20 years of experience in the multifamily industry, Tricia has developed a core understanding of what owners are looking for from their vendor partners. Introducing new technologies and adding value for her clients is what motivates her most, but the truth is the amazing friendships she has developed is the best part of her career. At Asset Essentials, Tricia is responsible for business development, client satisfaction and tier one support.
Prior to Asset Essentials, multifamily start-ups drew her into the industry. Tricia helped companies grow and become successful in various executive positions by effectively leading business development and client retention.
Tricia attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK and studied Journalism, Mass Communications/Advertising. Her home is in Scottsdale, AZ.
Fun Fact: Tricia ran her first Marathon at age 44 and qualified for Boston. Everybody already knows she love dogs!
- VP of Operations
Jim brings to Asset Essentials experience in both telecom and multifamily real estate industries.
Jim began his career in Boston with a dotcom research firm that eventually moved him to London to help start their European expansion. After a few years with the firm, he left to obtain his MBA at Baylor University. Upon completion of his MBA, he joined Frost & Sullivan, a strategy consulting firm. His focus at the firm was research and consulting in the technology and telecom industries. In 2005, he moved into multifamily real estate with Lynd Residential Properties (LRP) as an Asset Manager. Jim managed a portfolio consisting of 32 properties in 6 metro areas totaling more than $500M in value at its peak. His role with Lynd was multifaceted, giving him experience not only in Asset Management, but also direct operational responsibility as a multi-site manager.
Prior to joining Asset Essentials, Jim was the Director of Asset Management for Fulton Property Group. Jim created the firm's asset management program and was responsible for managing the financial performance of all Fulton assets.
At Asset Essentials, Jim oversees all day to day operations.
Jim received his M.B.A. from Baylor University and a B.A. in Psychology from Pomona College. Jim and his wife, Trisha, live in San Antonio.
Fun Fact: An athlete his entire life, Jim won the NCAA Division III Scoring Title in 1997 while a member of the Pomona College football team. He is also in the NCAA Football Record Book all-time lists twice - the first for Season Points Per Game (20.8), which is #3 on the All-Division List (behind Barry Sanders and Carl Herakovich), and the second for Career Points Per Game (12.0), which is #20 on the All-Division list.
- Vice President of Business Development and Wireless Services
Chris has been engaged with multifamily real estate technology and telecommunications for the better part of his professional career. Having joined Asset Essentials in 2019, he brings industry experience from a variety of telecommunications corporations such as Comcast, Charter Communications, and Dish Network.
Chris is focused on navigating the wireless communications marketplace and positioning Asset Essentials’ clients to be successful in capturing the value and benefits of 5G technologies for their assets. He is also focused on client engagement and providing superior technology guidance to the multifamily real estate community.
Fun Fact: Despite his fear of flying, Chris has been skydiving.
- Account Manager
Daphnne was born and raised in San Antonio. After graduating from St. Mary’s University with a degree in Psychology, Daphnne worked at USAA gaining experience in insurance, process development, project management and finance. During her time there, she received an award for developing a simplified specialized process that was later implemented company wide. She is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology in order to continue building on her passion for process development.
Daphnne joined Asset Essentials in 2019 as an Account Manager. She has excelled at developing relationships with clients and providers and is dedicated to delivering the best solutions for our clients.
Fun Fact: Daphnne studied abroad in London during her time at St. Mary’s, and is one of Manchester United’s biggest fans.
- Sales Associate
Mariel joined Asset Essentials in 2019 as a Sales Associate. After graduating from the University of Monterrey (UDEM), Mariel moved to Austin to pursue a sales career. From cold calling to business to business sales, Mariel has always done whatever it takes to bring in new business and establish true connections with her clients..
Her strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit eventually led Mariel to starting her own business which she operated and grew for several years before finally deciding to sell and pursue new challenges.
